Your files never leave your device. markdownview.net is a client-side tool: all Markdown rendering and file conversion happen locally in your browser. We do not upload, store or transmit the content you paste or open.
What we don't collect
- The Markdown content you paste, open or drag in.
- The files you convert or export.
- Account information — there is no signup.
Analytics
We may use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics to understand overall traffic — page views, referrers and rough country-level location. This data is anonymous, is never linked to an individual, and never includes the document content you paste, open or convert.
Advertising
This site is free to use, and we may display third-party advertising — including through Google AdSense — to support it. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. For more detail, see Google’s advertising policies. Advertising cookies are never given access to the Markdown content you process on this site — that content stays in your browser.
Cookies
The core tool works without login and does not require cookies to render or convert your files. Cookies that are set come from the third-party services described above (analytics and advertising), not from storing your documents. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the converters will still work.
Third parties
Static assets (fonts, libraries) may be served via a CDN. Diagram and math rendering libraries run entirely in your browser. Aside from the analytics and advertising services named above, no other third party receives your data.
Children’s privacy
This site is a general-purpose developer utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves — for example, if we add or change a third-party service. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
